Pam sugested that I post the links and comments here in case anyone wanted them after Summer Haven is over.

I've uploaded a diagram and sample to the gallery
Diagram- http://www.stamphaven.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-3834
Sample- http://www.stamphaven.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-3833

They are also on my blog if you find it easier to print from there. http://peachypapercrafting.blogspot.com/2010/06/window-on-world-card.html
I received an excellent question which I've tried to answer with pictures in the gallery. "How do you cut the window with a die?"

First follow the instructions for scoring, slitting and folding the card. http://www.stamphaven.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-3950

Open the card back up and fold down the center long wise. Place your die where you want the window to go and secure with removable tape. http://www.stamphaven.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-3949

Place the card & die on the die cutting platform so it fits across the platform. Cut it. http://www.stamphaven.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-3947

Once you've removed the die from the cardstock you can decorate it!

I also wanted to include the link to Stampwilly's window card. It is gorgeous! http://www.stamphaven.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-3881

Ok now I'm having trouble with this one.  What is it supposed to look like closed?  Mine looks spastic.

I can read directions on how to re-install a parking break on a grain truck, but this is like what the heck?

Please, more pictures, please!

ROTFLMBO, Lynn! My first effort was beyond 'spastic'! My closed card's window had 'Dunlap's desease'--stuck out like a beer belly... Grin

In it's 'closed' form, the card looks like a 'regular' card when done with the template Martha provided...

Can you upload you 'spazz' version? If so (promise no one will laugh*) we may be able to help get you on track...

*ok we might snicker just for a moment or 2 whistle

LOL. Lynn! U know what I like!?  whistle The fact that so many of us aren't afraid to share our 'muffs' for fear of being considered less-than-perfect...

Coming from someone as perfect as myself, that's saying lots...

Have a 'cold one' on me, pal--I love 'draughts'! Evil

Daniel you are terrible! LOL. I hate showing off my big bombs. I don't blame Lynn for not wanting to show hers off.

It is true that even folded perfectly this card is lumpy. Not a card we are likely to make frequently. Still it was a good challenge. OK, maybe that is my opinion. Evil

Martha,

I took my card for show and tell yesterday to a the dear friend who got me started making cards.  She went Wow, you made this, teach us how!

We have a small (4 people) card swap monthly,  I am going to make four more of these cards while they are fresh in my mind for each of them for the swap.

Also, the card I posted had two little pieces of scotch tape, because the first tool that I used for the folds was two sharp and cut thru and there is a sticker strategically placed to cover  another goof.  But I wasn't going to start over.

Got my '2 part' window card done! If Martha has no objection, I thought this would be a good place to post my 'how-I-did'... Wink

After successfully getting on card correctly folded & 'cut', I started another... Went pretty well, but I tried to use a blade to trim the piece so all the edges were even. Oops!... Ended up with 2 pieces--the outside & inside of the card... scared

Guess what? Turned out to give me a way to do this style of card with 2 different PPs or CS. surprise Here's how:

1. Do the 'outside' first. Cut & fold your material in half for the card shape/size you want.

2. Cut a 2nd piece exactly the same size & fold into 4 (You should end up with a 'W' or 'M' fold--origami folk talk 'mountains' & 'valleys' for folds...)

Now you have to make a choice... You can connect the 2 parts together & just follow Martha's instructions or you can work with each part separately--then connect them. (my preference)...

Either way... To connect the 2 parts--butt them together so top edges line up (the center fold is the most important one to line up) Apply tape or adhesived paper to make 'hinges' just on the edges that need to fold @ the top of the card.

It's that simple. And "Oh Boy!"--did I have fun with this method--can see even more!

Not gonna go into all that now. Gonna send my piece to Martha, first... Afterall she was the founder of this feast for me--& I'm still hungry for more! Grin

Ya know Daniel I did think about using 2 half sheets to make the card. It would be a lot easier to cut windows in a die cut machine that way. I may give it a try. Can't wait to see your new card!

Can't wait to see Daniels card.  And I did have to use a little tape to hold my card together in a couple of places.  But we could also make hinges or other fancy tabs to hold them together.

Great idea.

I am going to try this as well.

I started making my 'windows' card by folding and cutting a regular card. I was going to glue it inside another one but I never got to finish it. Just take an ordinary folded card and fold the two outsides back against themselves.

Today I finished up a new Window card. I've been working on it slowly but it is done and up in the gallery.
The front- http://www.stamphaven.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-4044
Inside- http://www.stamphaven.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-4045

On this one I cut the 8.5" x 11" sheet in half to 8.5" x 5.5". It was far easier to die cut the window and I used star and a corner punch on the single inside piece. Couldn't have done it that way if it was all one sheet. Also I used printed paper instead of cardstock and that worked far better. It was a fun project.

Love your 'spacey' piece, Embee!  Putting my 2-parter in the post tomorrow (promise)... laugh

As I continue to play with this 'template', I want to do another. This is (for me) addictive!

This time I'm going to do a 4-piece card using the 'hinging' technique. And... for good measure, I'm not going to do a 'center' window...

What I find fascinating about these cards is how we have gone from 'one piece' into 'deconstructing' & more...

Can't wait to see what we'll do next...

Your photography of my 'humble' work  Roll Eyes leaves me (almost) speechless, Martha! Thank you so much, friend!

Now that I know you 'like' All Hallows much as me? Watch your mail for more tricks & treats--maybe even a 'non-Charlie Brown' rock'... Roll Eyes

Note to Haveneers... If you have a question about this card? Do the comment thing & I'll try to respond on the gallery...

Can't wait to see more 'window' cards from others---I just spotted a Santa stamp that will be in one of future ones...

Thanx again Martha for begining this adventure for me... Smiley
